We did not create heaven and earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who deny the truth. Woe betide those who deny the truth, when they are cast into the Fire -- 27 Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked? 28 A Book We have sent down to thee, Blessed, that men possessed of minds may ponder its signs and so remember. 29 And We vouchsafed unto Da'ud Sulaiman. How excellent a bondman! verily he was oft-returning. 30 When they brought fleet-footed chargers in the evening to show him, 31 He said: verily I have loved the love of earthly good above the remembrance of my Lord until the sun hath disappeared behind the veil. 32 He then ordered, “Bring them back to me”; and he began caressing their shins and necks. 33 And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): 34 He said: My Lord! do Thou forgive me and grant me a kingdom which is not fit for (being inherited by) anyone after me; 35 So We subjected the wind to him, so that it ran softly by his command wherever he wished; 36 And also the Shayatin (devils) from the jinns (including) every kind of builder and diver, 37 and others chained in fetters. 38 “This is Our bestowal. So give or withhold as you wish without account.” 39 And verily for him is an approach with Us, and a happy end. 40
