And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire! 27 Or shall We make those who believe and do righteous deeds as the workers of corruption in the earth, or shall We make the godfearing as the transgressors? 28 (It is) a Book We have revealed to you abounding in good that they may ponder over its verses, and that those endowed with understanding may be mindful. 29 And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 30 When fast footed steeds were presented to him at evening. 31 he said: “Lo! I have come to love this wealth on account of the remembrance of my Lord.” And when the horses disappeared, 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 But [ere this,] indeed, We had tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned [towards Us; and] 34 He said, “My Lord! Forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom, which shall not befit anyone after me; indeed only You are the Great Bestower.” 35 So We made the wind subservient unto him, setting fair by his command whithersoever he intended. 36 As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,- 37 And also others bound in fetters. 38 This is Our free gift, therefore give freely or withhold, without reckoning. 39 And indeed for him in Our presence are, surely, proximity and an excellent abode. 40
