We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Shall We make those who believe and do good deeds equal to those who spread turmoil in the earth? Or shall We equate the pious with the disobedient? 28 This is a blessed Book which We sent down to you [Muhammad], for people to ponder over its messages, and for those with understanding to take heed. 29 And We vouchsafed unto Da'ud Sulaiman. How excellent a bondman! verily he was oft-returning. 30 When fast footed steeds were presented to him at evening. 31 he said: “Lo! I have come to love this wealth on account of the remembrance of my Lord.” And when the horses disappeared, 32 (he ordered): “Bring these horses back to me,” and then he began to gently stroke their shanks and necks. 33 And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): 34 Saying: "O Lord, forgive me, and give me such a dominion as none will merit after me. You are the great bestower." 35 We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it, 36 and the satans, every builder and diver 37 And others linked together in chains, 38 "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." 39 And verily for him is an approach with Us, and a happy end. 40
