(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 [and thereupon was told:] "Strike [the ground] with thy foot: here is cool water to wash with and to drink!" 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 We distinguished them for the distinct remembrance of the abode (of the Hereafter). 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 wherein they will recline, [and] wherein they may [freely] call for many a fruit and drink, 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This is what is promised you for the Day of Reckoning. 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!- 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
