And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 And We said, “Take a broom in your hand and strike her with it, and do not break your vow”; We indeed found him patiently enduring; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 Verily We! We distinguished them with a distinct quality: the remembrance of the Abode. 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This is a Remembrance; and for the godfearing is a fair resort, 49 gardens of perpetual bliss, with gates wide-open to them, 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ And with them will be maidens of equal age with modest gaze. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Most surely this is Our sustenance; it shall never come to an end; 54 This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return - 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 And other torments, like thereof, conjoined. 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Verily this is the very truth: the wrangling of the fellows of the Fire! 64
