1/2 Hizb 46
< random >
And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 [And finally We told him:] "Now take in thy hand a small bunch of grass, and strike therewith, and thou wilt not break thine oath!" for, verily, We found him full of patience in adversity: how excellent a servant [of Ours,] who, behold, would always turn unto Us! 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub the men of power and knowledge. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu al-Kifl. All were of the best. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 They will be comfortably seated; reclining, they will call for abundant fruit and drink; 51 ۞ And with them are the pure spouses, who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, of single age. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 Most surely this is Our sustenance; it shall never come to an end; 54 This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, 55 Hell; which they shall enter; what an evil resting-place! 56 All this; so let them taste it - boiling water and pus, 57 and other sufferings of the kind. 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people who rushed headlong [into sin] with you? No welcome to them! Verily, they [too] shall have to endure the fire!" 59 They will say, "Nor you! No welcome for you. You, [our leaders], brought this upon us, and wretched is the settlement." 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 “Did we mock at them or did our eyes turn away from them?” 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
