(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens Everlasting, whereof the portals remain opened for them. 50 They will be comfortably seated; reclining, they will call for abundant fruit and drink; 51 ۞ And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 This is for the virtuous; and indeed for the rebellious is a wretched destination. 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 all this will be theirs; let them taste it -- a scalding, dark, foul fluid, 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?" 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
