And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 And remember thou Our bondmen, Ibrahim and Is-haq and Ya'qub, owners of might and insight. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 wherein they shall recline, wherein they shall ask for abundant fruit and drinks, 51 ۞ And with them will be maidens of equal age with modest gaze. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals, etc.), will be an evil final return (Fire), 55 Hell, where they will be roasted. An evil place to dwell! 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people who rushed headlong [into sin] with you? No welcome to them! Verily, they [too] shall have to endure the fire!" 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst? 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire. 64
