Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 We chose them for a special [purpose] -- proclaiming the message of the Hereafter: 46 And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best! 47 And remember Isma'il (Ishmael), Al-Yasa'a (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 Everlasting Gardens – all its gates are open for them. 50 wherein they will recline, [and] wherein they may [freely] call for many a fruit and drink, 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
