SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them, the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving.” 66 Say: "This is a message tremendous: 67 from which you are turning away. 68 (Tell them): “I had no knowledge of the High Council when they were disputing. 69 'Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly." 70 When thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay. 71 And when I have made him and have breathed into him of My spirit. Fall down in homage before him." 72 And the angels did obeisance, all of them, 73 Except Iblis; he was proud and was, from the beginning, a disbeliever. 74 Allah said: O Iblis! what preventeth thee from prostrating thyself before that which I have created with both my hands? Becomest thou stiff-necked, or art thou of the exalted ones? 75 He replied: “I am nobler than he. You created me from fire and created him from clay.” 76 'Begone' said He, 'you are stoned'. 77 "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment." 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 He (Allah) said: 'You are among those that are respited 80 till the Appointed Day." 81 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "Then [I swear] by Thy very might: I shall most certainly beguile them all into grievous error 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 (Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting- 84 “That I will fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all together.” 85 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender. 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 and you shall surely know its tiding after a while.' 88
