SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Almighty, the All-Forgiving!" 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 yet you ignore it. 68 I had no knowledge of the High Council when they disputed. 69 had it not been revealed unto me [by God] - to no other end than that I might convey [unto you] a plain warning. 70 When your Lord said to the angels: 'I am creating a human from clay, 71 after I have shaped him and breathed of My spirit (I created) into him, fall down prostrate before him' 72 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them: 73 save Iblis; he waxed proud, and was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said (God): "O Iblis, what hindered you from adoring what I created by My own authority? Are you too proud, or too high and mighty?" 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 “And indeed My curse is upon you till the Day of Judgement.” 78 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 79 He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved 80 Until the day of the time appointed. 81 [Iblees] said, "By your might, I will surely mislead them all 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 Allah said: the truth is, and it is the truth that I speak 84 I will certainly fill the Gehenna with you and with all those among them who follow you.” 85 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender. 86 This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds, 87 “And you will come to know of its tidings, after a while.” 88
