Say (unto them, O Muhammad): I am only a warner, and there is no Allah save Allah, the One, the Absolute, 65 Lord of the heavens and earth, and of what between them is, the All-mighty, the All-forgiving.' 66 Say: 'It is a mighty tiding 67 from which you are turning away. 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, 71 And when I have made him and have breathed into him of My spirit. Fall down in homage before him." 72 So all the angels prostrated, every one, without exception. 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said (God): "O Iblis, what hindered you from adoring what I created by My own authority? Are you too proud, or too high and mighty?" 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 Allah said: get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art driven away. 77 "And verily!, My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense." 78 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 79 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 80 for an appointed time". 81 (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong, 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 [Allah] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say - 84 that I shall certainly fill hell with you and your followers all together". 85 Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for the Qur'an any payment, and I am not of the pretentious 86 It, (the Quran), is nothing but a reminder to you from the Lord of the Universe. 87 And you will surely know [the truth of] its information after a time." 88
