It is Allah who made for you the grazing animals upon which you ride, and some of them you eat. 79 and for you there are other uses in them, and that upon them you may reach a need in your chests, and upon them and on ships you are carried. 80 God shows you the evidence (of His existence). How can you then deny such evidence? 81 Have they not travelled in the earth so that they may behold what wise hath been the end of those before them. They were more numerous than these, and mightier in strength and the traces in the land. But naught availed them of that which they had been earning. 82 They were far too content with their own knowledge (to pay attention to the Messengers) when Our Messengers came to them with illustrious evidence. They were encompassed by the torment for mocking Our guidance. 83 So when they saw Our punishment, they said, “We accept faith in the One Allah, and reject those whom we ascribed with Him.” 84 But their attaining to faith after they had beheld Our punishment could not possibly benefit them; such being the way of God that has always obtained for His creatures: and so, then and there, lost were they who had denied the truth. 85
