Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha Mim 1 This is the revelations from the Beneficent, Merciful God. 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
