54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ha Mim 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your Allah is one Allah, therefore follow the right way to Him and ask His forgiveness; and woe to the polytheists; 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
