Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha'. Mim. 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
