Elucidated (Fussilat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
