Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
