Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
