Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
