Al-Shooraa 4 of 5
And whatsoever of affliction befalleth you is owing to that which your hands have earned; and He pardoneth much. 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 If He wills, He can calm the winds so the ships remain still on the sea surface; indeed in this are signs for every greatly enduring, grateful person. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And let them know, those who call Our messages in question, that for them there is no escape. 35 Whatsoever you have been given is only this life's merchandise; but what is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and place their trust in their Lord, 36 (This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, 37 And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them. 38 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves, 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. 41 The blame is only against those who wrong people, and are wrongfully insolent in the earth, for them there is a painful punishment. 42 But surely he who bears patiently and is forgiving -- surely that is true constancy. 43

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
