Now whatever calamity may befall you [on Judgment Day] will be an outcome of what your own hands have wrought, although He pardons much; 30 You cannot challenge God on earth and you will have no one besides Him as your guardian or helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 And those who dispute in respect of Our revelations may know that for them there is no place of shelter. 35 AND [remember that] whatever you are given [now] is but for the [passing] enjoyment of life in this world - whereas that which is with God is far better and more enduring. [It shall be given] to all who attain to faith and in their Sustainer place their trust; 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them. 38 who, when they are attacked, defend themselves. 39 The retribution of evil is the equal of evil (done); yet those who forgive and rehabilitate will be rewarded by God. Verily He does not like those who do wrong. 40 Those who defend themselves after they have been wronged cannot be held blameworthy, 41 Reproach is only against those who oppress people, and wrongfully spread rebellion in the land; for them is a painful punishment. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
