And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas: 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 Or He may make them founder for what they have earned, and (even then) pardon most; 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 Whatever you have received is just a means of enjoyment for this life but the reward of God for the believers and those who trust in their Lord will be better and everlasting. 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 who obey their Lord and establish Prayer; who conduct their affairs by consultation, and spend out of what We have bestowed upon them; 38 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves, 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 But he who bears with patience and forgives, surely complies with divine resolve. 43
