Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 That which has been given to you is only the wherewithal of the transient life of this world. But that which is with Allah is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 (This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, 37 And those who have responded to their lord and established prayer and whose affair is [determined by] consultation among themselves, and from what We have provided them, they spend. 38 who, when a wrong is done to them, seek its redress. 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. 43
