Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish prayer and whose affair being matter of counsel among themselves, and who of that wherewith We have provided them expend. 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The recompense for evil will be equivalent to the deed. He who pardons (the evil done to him) and reforms himself, will receive his reward from God. God certainly does not love the unjust. 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 blame attaches but to those who oppress [other] people and behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right: for them there is grievous suffering in store! 42 Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. 43
