Whatever hardship befalls you is the result of your own deeds. God pardons many of your sins. 30 And you cannot escape in the earth, and you shall not have a guardian or a helper besides Allah. 31 And of His signs are the ships that run on the sea like landmarks; 32 if He willed, He could bring the wind to a standstill and they would lie motionless on the surface of the sea, truly there are signs in this for anyone who is steadfast and grateful, 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge. 35 Whatever you have received is just a means of enjoyment for this life but the reward of God for the believers and those who trust in their Lord will be better and everlasting. 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them, 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. 41 Blame attaches only to those who subject people to wrong and commit excesses on earth. A painful chastisement awaits them. 42 But he who bears with patience and forgives, surely complies with divine resolve. 43
