Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 but whenever a prophet came to them, they mocked him, 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
