Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 By the Clear Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 And not a prophet came unto them but him they were wont to mock. 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
