Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
