Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, "Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
