Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 in order that you might gain mastery over them, and that, whenever you have mastered them, you might remember your Sustainer's blessings and say: "Limitless in His glory is He who has made [all] this subservient to our use - since [but for Him,] we would not have been able to attain to it. 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
