And when Abraham said unto his father and his folk: Lo! I am innocent of what ye worship 26 except the One Who created me; and, behold, it is He Who will direct me to the Right Way.” 27 This is the legacy he left to his descendants so that they may turn (to God). 28 In fact I gave them and their forefathers the usage of this world until the truth and the Noble Messenger who conveyed the message clearly, came to them. 29 And when the truth cometh unto them, they say this is magic, and verily we are therein disbelievers. 30 They say: “Why was this Qur'an not sent down upon some great man from the two (main) cities?” 31 Are they the distributors of your Lord’s mercy? We have distributed among them their comforts in the life of this world, and gave high status to some over others so that they mock at each other; and the mercy of your Lord is better than all what they hoard. 32 And were it not that mankind would have become one community, We might well have appointed, for those who disbelieve in the Beneficent, roofs of silver for their houses and stairs (of silver) whereby to mount, 33 with doors to their houses and couches on which to recline; 34 And also adornments of gold. But all this were nothing but conveniences of the present life: The Hereafter, in the sight of thy Lord is for the Righteous. 35
