And when Abraham said to his father and his people, 'Surely I am quit of that you serve, 26 None [do I worship] but Him who has brought me into being: and behold, it is He who will guide me!" 27 And he made it [i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone)] a Word lasting among his offspring (True Monotheism), that they may turn back (i.e. to repent to Allah or receive admonition). 28 Yea, I have given the good things of this life to these (men) and their fathers, until the Truth has come to them, and a messenger making things clear. 29 And now that the Truth hath come unto them they say: This is mere magic, and lo! we are disbelievers therein. 30 They also said: 'Why was this Koran not sent down to a great man from the two Villages' 31 Is it they who apportion the mercy of your Lord? It is We who distribute among them their livelihood in the life of this world, and raise some of them above others in rank, so that they may take one another into service; and the mercy of your Lord is better than [the wealth] which they amass. 32 And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount 33 And for their houses doors (of silver) and couches of silver whereon to recline, 34 and gold, surely, all this is but the enjoyment of this present life. The Everlasting Life with your Lord is for those who fear (Him). 35
