Al-Zukhruf 4 of 7
We shall attach to him who goes blind to the remembrance of Ar-Rahman a devil as companion, -- 36 whereupon, behold, these [evil impulses] bar all such from the path [of truth,] making them think that they are guided aright! 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muhammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 or make you see the end that We had promised them, for We have full power over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the right path. 43 Verily it is a great source of eminence for you and your people, and soon you will be called to account concerning that. 44 Ask all Our Messengers whom We sent before you whether We had appointed any deities beside the Merciful One to be worshipped. 45
