But as for anyone who chooses to remain blind to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, to him We assign an [enduring] evil impulse, to become his other self: 36 and they bar them from the way, and they think they are guided, 37 But when he comes to Us, he will say (to his satan): “Would that there had been between me and you the distance as between the East and the West. How evil a companion you were!” 38 It will be said [to such a person], "You have done wrong. Having partners in punishment will be of no avail to you today." 39 Can you make the deaf to hear, or show the blind, and those lost in clear error, the way? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability. 42 So, hold fast to the Book that has been revealed to you, you are surely on the right path, 43 It is a (source) of greatness for you and your people. You will surely be questioned about it. 44 And ask (O Muhammad SAW) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint aliha (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Beneficent (Allah)?" 45
