And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts' Evil is the companion. 38 On that Day it will not profit you in the least [to know] that, since you have sinned [together,] you are now to share your suffering [as well]. 39 Can you make the deaf to hear, or show the blind, and those lost in clear error, the way? 40 So if We take you away, We shall then indeed take revenge from them. 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way. 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 And question thou our messengers whom We sent before thee; did We appoint any deities other than (Allah) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? 45

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
