۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 Had We wanted, We could have made the angels as your successors on the earth. 60 It is knowledge of the Hour; doubt not concerning it, and follow me. This is a straight path. 61 and do not let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. 62 When Jesus came with the signs, he said: "I have come to you with authority, and to explain some thing about which you are at variance. So fear God, and follow me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 What are they waiting for – except the Last Day, that it may suddenly come upon them while they are unaware? 66 All intimate friends on that day will become each others enemies except for the pious, 67
