۞ When the son of Mary was mentioned as an example, you people cried out in protest, saying, 57 And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. 58 He is naught but a bondman: him We favoured, and him We made an ensample unto the Children of Israil. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 It is the knowledge of the Hour. Have no doubt concerning it, and follow me. This is a Straight Path, 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 For God, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship Him: that is a straight path." 64 Then the sects differed among themselves. Woe then unto those who do Wrong because of the torment of an afflictive Day. 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous 67
