۞ When the son of Mary was mentioned as an example, you people cried out in protest, saying, 57 And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. 58 but he was only a servant We favoured and made an example for the Children of Israel: 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 (Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom. Have no doubt about it and follow me; this is the straight path. 61 And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your open enemy. 62 And when Isa came with evidences, he said: of a surety I have come unto you with wisdom, and to expound unto you some of that wherein ye differ; so fear Allah and obey me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 Then the factions fell apart among themselves. So woe to the wrong-doers from the chastisement of a grievous Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 On that Day, friends will become each other's enemies, except the righteous -- 67
