And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
