And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
