And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
