And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Even then they say: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
