and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
