And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
