and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
