۞ Allah is He Who made subservient to you the sea that the ships may run therein by His command, and that you may seek of His grace, and that you may give thanks. 12 And He has subjected to you, as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: Behold, in that are Signs indeed for those who reflect. 13 Tell the believers to forgive those who do not fear the visitations of God, so that He may requite the people for their deeds. 14 Whoever does what is just and right, does so for his own good; and whoever does evil, does so to his own detriment, and you shall all return to your Lord. 15 We gave Scriptures, wisdom and prophethood to the Children of Israel, and provided them with good things and favoured them over all other people. 16 And We gave them clear indications of the purpose [of faith]; and it was only after all this knowledge had been vouchsafed to them that they began, out of mutual jealousy, to hold divergent views: [but,] verily, thy Sustainer will judge between them on Resurrection Day regarding all whereon they were wont to differ. 17 And thereafter We have placed thee upon the law of the religion; so follow it thou, and follow not the vain desires of those who know not. 18 Indeed, they will never avail you against Allah at all. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another; but Allah is the protector of the righteous. 19 This Book is an enlightenment unto mankind and a guidance, and a mercy unto a People who are convinced. 20 Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, in their present life and after their death? Worst is the judgement that they make. 21
