In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Those who disbelieve and bar from the way of Allah, Allah will cause their deeds go astray. 1 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds and believed in what has been sent down upon Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) – and that is the truth from their Lord – Allah has relieved them of some of their evils and refined their condition. 2 That is because the ones who deny the truth follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord. Thus God sets forth comparisons for mankind. 3 If you encounter the disbelievers in a battle, strike-off their heads. Take them as captives when they are defeated. Then you may set them free as a favor to them, with or without a ransom, when the battle is over. This is the Law. Had God wanted, He could have granted them (unbelievers) victory, but He wants to test you through each other. The deeds of those who are killed for the cause of God will never be without virtuous results. 4 He will guide them [in the hereafter as well,] and will set their hearts at rest, 5 And He will admit them into Paradise – they have been made familiar with it. 6 Believers, if you aid Allah, He will come to your aid and will plant your feet firmly. 7 And those who disbelieve, perdition is for them, and He will make their actions vain. 8 That is because they have been averse to what God has sent down, so He has made their works to fail. 9 ۞ Have they not travelled through the land and seen the terrible end of those who lived before them? God brought upon them utter destruction and the disbelievers will also face similar perdition. 10 This, because God is the Protector of all who have attained to faith, whereas they who deny the truth have no protector. 11
