In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Those who disbelieve and bar from the way of Allah, Allah will cause their deeds go astray. 1 whereas those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds, and have come to believe in what has been bestowed from on high on Muhammad - for it is the truth from their Sustainer - [shall attain to God's grace:] He will efface their [past] bad deeds, and will set their hearts at rest. 2 That is because those who refuse to believe only follow what is false; but those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. That is how God gives men precepts of wisdom. 3 So when you confront the disbelievers, strike at their necks; until when you have slain them in plenty, tie them up firmly; then after that, you may either release them as a favour or take ransom, until the war lays down its ordeal; this is it; and had Allah willed He Himself could have taken revenge from them, but this is to test some of you with others; and Allah will surely never waste the deeds of those who were killed in His way. 4 Anon He shall guide them, and shall make good their state. 5 He will admit them into the Paradise which He has made known to them. 6 O ye who believe! If ye help Allah, He will help you and will make your foothold firm. 7 But those who disbelieve - for them is misery, and He will waste their deeds. 8 That is because they disliked what Allah revealed, so He rendered worthless their deeds. 9 ۞ Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed them completely and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers. 10 That is because God is the protector of the believers, and those who deny the truth have no protector at all. 11
