Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Qaf. By the glorious Koran! 1 But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! 2 When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant return." 3 We know what the earth diminishes of them; with Us is a book recording. 4 But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition. 5 Do they not look at the sky above them - how We have built it and made it beautiful and free of all faults? 6 And the earth have We spread out, and have flung firm hills therein, and have caused of every lovely kind to grow thereon, 7 To give sight and as a reminder to every servant who turns frequently (to Allah). 8 And We sent down out of heaven water blessed, and caused to grow thereby gardens and grain of harvest 9 and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered spathes; 10 A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and the companions of the well and Thamud 12 And Ad and Firon and Lut's brethren, 13 And the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba'; everyone of them denied (their) Messengers, so My Threat took effect. 14 So did We tire by creating the first time? Rather they doubt being created again. 15

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
